Whizbang Films

Actor/Writer Paul Gross and Producer Frank Siracusa Founded Toronto's Whizbang Films in 1999. Since the company's inception Whizbang has entertained Canadian and International audiences alike, with high quality, award winning dramatic TV series, Feature Films, and Made-for-Television Movies.

In 2002, Whizbang enjoyed the release of its first feature film project, Men with Brooms. In its first 24 days in theatres, Men with Brooms boasted the highest box office revenues for an english speaking Canadian movie in the last twenty years.

Fall 2004, saw the network premiere of Whizbang's award winning H2O, a four hour mini-series for CBC, helmed by renowned Quebec Director Charles Biname. The much anticipated sequel to H2O, the Trojan Horse, starring Paul Gross, Tom Skerritt, Greta Scacchi, once again directed by Charles Diname will air on CBC in March 2008. ZOS: Zone of Separation, an 8-hour drama series shot in Canada and Bosnia, for TMN/Movie Central, is slated for broadcast in 2008.

Slated to hit theatres in November 2008: shotting Passchendaele, a sweepingly epic motion picture dedicated to Canadian Soldiers in the first World War, written and directed by Paul Gross

The Perfect Pitch:

Start with a few lines to frame your idea. Convey the essence of the concept without going into to much detail. Premise, characters, setting, tone, etc. If the idea has merit a follow-up meeting will put flesh on the bones. Don't try and pack in too much or read submitted paperwork by rote [but definitely have paperwork in order that will represent the project]. At last year's event - after a successful pitch - we meet with individuals to discuss the project at length, at a later date.
